The 1st Steering Committee Meeting of MASUDEM Project in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In a groundbreaking initiative, the Indonesian MASUDEM consortium, represented by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), recently held its inaugural Steering Committee Meeting in Yogyakarta from September 12 to September 15, 2023.
The event commenced with a seminar on “Integrating Sustainability Curriculum in Higher Education Institutions” on the first day, followed by a productive Steering Committee Meeting in the afternoon. Subsequent days saw teams dedicated to developing MASUDEM courses, culminating in the presentation of 13 course outlines and syllabi.
Notably, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vatcharapol Sukhotu, Dean of Naresuan University’s Faculty of Logistics and Digital Supply Chain (LDSC, NU), leads the course on “Technology and Innovation Management for Sustainability.” LDSC, NU faculty members are also contributing to vital MASUDEM courses, including “ESG Investment and Reporting” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kullapa Soratana (MASUDEM Steering Committee Member), “Project Management for Sustainable Organization” by Dr. Klairung Ponanan, and “Information Technology for Sustainable Development” by Dr. Jaruwat Patmanee.
Additionally, the MASUDEM members had the opportunity to explore two exemplary sustainable businesses, Paradise Batik and Joglo Ayu Tenan, during their visit on the third day. This initiative highlights the consortium’s commitment to advancing sustainability education and practices in higher education institutions.
